I'M HERE FOR YOU
"Be courageous. Be adventurous. Be bold."
My first experience in hospitality and travel came to me as an intern at Walt Disney World. It opened my eyes to travel and changed my career trajectory. I continued with my education in marketing upon returning to college but also took a guest service position at historic hotel nearby. Being a small boutique hotel, I did a little bit of just about everything, having lots of interaction with guests. This early experience was invaluable in shaping customer service and problem solving skills necessary to deliver a vacation of lifetime.
After college, I transitioned into my “professional” career, working in marketing and advertising. I thrived but something was missing. I took every opportunity to travel; jet setting across the globe for adventures as often as possible, quickly discovering this was my true passion. In time, I uncovered an opportunity to combine my love for travel and sales. I spent about three years working in sales role on cruise ships around the world. First working for Norwegian Cruise Line on a Hawaiian itinerary, I sold excursions and tours also being able to experience them myself. After success in that role, I was hosting the loyalty program events and responsible for future cruise sales. It was thrilling learning about destinations that I had not yet experienced; it opened my eyes to the rest of the globe. The following years provided an opportunity to travel much of the world including South America, the Mexican Riviera, Caribbean, Alaska and Canada, East Asia, parts of Africa, Middle East, and Western Europe. I spent time on ships by Holland America, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, and Oceania.
After years of almost non-stop travel, I returned to the United States. It didn’t take much time for the travel bug to bite again. Within months, I found myself hired as a Business Development Manager for Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts. I spent the next five years training and developing relationships with travel agents to positively impact sales. It has been most rewarding working closely with travel agents to assist them in building their business and helping to check off bucket list items.
I took a brief hiatus from the travel industry, devoting some time to one of my other passions – the environment. I worked as a consultant educating homeowners on options for renewable energy and sustainable living. I helped hundreds of families join the solar energy movement. Missing travel, missing my travel agents, and being urged by many, I am happy to return to the travel industry and delighted that I have joined Trafalgar and The Travel Corporation. All of my best memories come from travel; it is has molded my entire being. I am elated over the numerous choices offered by Trafalgar in styles of trips, destinations, and experiences along with their nearly 70 years of expertise, passion, quality, and support of sustainable travel. I am thrilled to be on this new adventure.
